Our master brief structured the national Safe Routes for Youth toolkit. Safe Routes Partnership leadership presented the collaboration at George Mason University. The District Department of Transportation invited CDMA Business Model® into official Vision Zero public education, where an apprentice co-presented with agency staff.
Four Generations of Black Enterprise
CDMA Business Model was founded by ShaNette who traces the model’s roots back to her great-grandmother, Elease Perkins a Harlem Renaissance-era employment agency owner and business school founder. That history is preserved in the Elease Perkins Collection at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at The New York Public Library.
Our Story
What began as a family legacy of workforce entrepreneurship a century ago has become a modern standards and licensing model built to help institutions do the work of connecting education to employment, without the bridge ever standing between a young person and their own story.
ShaNette was recently honored in the “I Am Her” category at the 2026 NYC Her Future TrailblazHER Awards, recognized alongside the NYC Mayor’s Office, the Mayor’s Office of Equity & Racial Justice, and the Department of Youth and Community Development.
